I own some of the DVDs, and although the topical references are dated (though helped by the 'news recap' at the beginning of each episode), I think it still stands up very well. Even though Drop the Dead Donkey was written 20 years ago, it is a tribute to the excellent, analytical satire that many of the jokes in the book could still be used today (especially the foreboding Berlusconi TV).
